Bawdy Shop: A Day of Burlesque Education

Join us for a fun filled day of movement and practical information for performers of all experience levels. Classes will be held at Tannery World Dance located at 1060 River St Suite 110 starting at 11 am.

You may take as many classes as you wish. Please read class descriptions and come prepared.

11am-12pm

Sleazy Like Sunday Morning with Babraham Lincoln

Start your Sunday with a slow burn! Babe will take you through a gentle physical warm up followed by a creative movement exercise and round out the morning with some sizzling choreo. Come ready to move your body and explore your sensual side. This class is for all levels of movers and all expressions. All dancers must be open and have a willingness to try and play. 

12pm-1:30pm

Let's Get Glam with Rizzo Rogue 

Wondering how to master winged liner, false lash application, paint for the back of the room in a demure way? This class is for you! Rizzo will share all her tips and tricks for looking glam in the diviest of dive bars and biggest and brightest stages. This class requires a beginner understanding of makeup, please come with your base (foundation, blush, concealer) and clean makeup brushes ready to learn.
Materials list will be provided upon registration. 
Space is limited to 8 people.

This class has an additional $25 materials fee

Sensual Seduction with Miss Monsterra

A fun and empowering class that blends the playful energy of burlesque with high energy, sensual twerk. In this class you will learn some of the fundamentals of twerk, including hip rolls, booty pops, and hip isolations. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or a complete beginner, this class is all about self-expression, empowerment, and feeling confident in your body. Knee pads are highly recommended

2:45-4:00

Get On The Floor with Valerie Veils

This sultry and uplifting class focuses on floor work fundamentals drawn from classic and neo-burlesque. Dancers will explore how to get onto and off the floor, and what to do while you're down there, all while building core strength, flexibility, and confidence.
Class will involve a warm-up, skills session, choreography, and cool-down
This is an intermediate class, floor work requires fundamental dance skills and/or core strength built through activities such as pilates and yoga. However, many moves will have different skill levels that you can choose from. If you have questions as your skill level for this class, please reach out!

Kneepads required, decent knees and lower back encouraged.

4:00-5:15

Peel and Reveal with Vyxen Monroe

Join teaser extraordinaire, Vyxen Monroe, some of her signature peels and reveals. This class with involve a physical warm up followed by choreography. All levels of dancers are encouraged to participate. Come prepared to move.
